Health Committee Update

As we have worked through the Natural Church Development program, it has become apparent to the Church Health Committee that our church needs to go through the process of clearly defining its Values and Vision.  The 'values' of the church are the deeply held beliefs that fuel the 'vision' or desired future of the church.
In the coming months we plan to meet as a committee and go through a three step process.  The first step is for the committee to define Fort Lee Gospel's unique core values and then write out a vision statement.  By February we hope to bring the values and vision to the congregation in the context of small groups.  This is a time to evalu

ate the committee's work and make adjustments with the congregation's input.  The third step will be to use the defined values and vision to evaluate the ministries of the church.  The desired outcome is that we as a church will be able to celebrate our unique calling from God to be the church He desires us to be in Fort Lee.
Please keep this process in your prayers and we value your help in the coming weeks as we consider our values and vision.

"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience."
Col. 3:12

New Membership Class and Annual Meeting

2004 has been a year when a number of our church members and adherents moved out of state.  In their absence a number of new people have made Fort Lee Gospel their home church.
This month there is an opportunity for those who are new to our church to formally become members.  We have scheduled a membership class on Saturday, Jan 15th from 10:00 AM until Noon.  The class will cover our church's doctrines, history, and current programs.  Prospec

tive new members will also meet with one of the pastors before joining.
We have also scheduled our annual members meeting for Sunday, Feb 6th after the worship service.  We encourage those who are not currently members to plan to attend the membership class and join the church.

Faith & Reason

"Faith and Reason" is the name of a program on cable TV featuring Pastor Rick and Pastor Dominick Apollo of First Reformed Church, and hosted by John Pluchino.  The purpose of the program is to address issues of our culture in a way that gives a reasonable response that is faithful to God's Word.  We hope to present the reasonableness of placing your faith in Jesus.
The 30 minute talk show format is aired on Time Warner Cable at 8:30 PM Mondays on channel 81

or 98.  The program also is aired on Cable Vision in Hudson County on Mondays at 7:30 PM and on Cresskill Cable Vision (21 towns) Tuesdays at 8:00 PM.  We are also on Cable Vision in Jersey City on Sundays at 1:30 PM.  We have a large potential audience in Bergen and Hudson Counties.  Please keep this ministry in your prayers that God would use this format to communicate truth that changes lives.
