Our Church and the Billy Graham Crusade

Studies of the impact of the Billy Graham crusades over the years have shown that the local church is the key to the lasting impact on the community for Jesus Christ.  When Billy Graham preaches in a community, some churches grow in number and spiritual vibrancy, while other churches hardly notice there was a crusade.  The following are some ways our church intends to participate in the June 24 - 26 event. 
We will continue to encourage participation in "Operation Andrew," a program to pray and invite friends and family to attend the crusade in Queen.  Your participation will often be done on a one on one basis where you may drive with your friend to the event. 
A number of people in our church have already

attended the 4 week "Life and Witnessing" class and plan to participate as counselors for the three services.  Others may choose to volunteer for other jobs like ushering or joining the choir.  See Pastor John for further details. 
We are currently looking at renting a bus for the Sunday service.  June 26th is also the day of our church barbecue, so we can worship, eat and plan to leave together at about 2:00 PM.  To help us plan we will have a sign up sheet available from the first week of June.  Costs for the bus will be about $10 per person and we would appreciate all those who can afford to contribute to the bus cost to help us out. 

Sound System Upgrades

This spring and summer we are in the process of upgrading our sound system to enhance our worship services.  Our plans have not been finalized but we hope to add a projection system so that we can project the words of our songs onto the screen through a computer program.  This projection system will open up the possibility of PowerPoint  presentation for announcements and sermon outlines.  We would also be able to project a video clip during a service.
Other changes include doing away with sermons taped on cassettes and offering sermons on CDs.  This will also feed into some upgrades on our

church web site.  We will be able to add audio clips and video from "Faith & Reason" to our church web site.
We are also looking at the possibility of upgrading our drum set to digital and purchasing a wireless mike to free up the preacher from behind the pulpit. 
There are costs connected with these changes and we encourage you to consider designating an added gift for this purpose, as you are able.
