Interfaith Service on September 11th

The five year Anniversary of September 11, 2001 will be on Monday this year.  A group of churches and synagogues of Fort Lee will join together on that day for a time of reflection and prayer.  You are welcome to join us for this memorial service.
The program will take place at the Jewish Community Center of Fort Lee and will include representatives from the Fort Lee's police department and fire department.  There will be some special music and prayers will be offered for those who lost loved ones and for the troops who are currently fighting as part of the response to 9/11.
Participating churches and synagogue include

First Reformed Church, Metro Community Church, Church of the Good Shepherd and Jewish Community Center and Fort Lee Gospel Church.
The program will focus on Fort Lee's experience of the horrific events of September 11, 2001.  Our hope is that the program will help people remember and then look to God for His protection and care.  Pray that God will use this event to minister to the community of Fort Lee.

Season of Prayer - September 9th

Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.  Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven."
Matt 18:3,4

The spiritual life of a church is closely tied to its prayer life.  Our church encourages individual prayer, we send out a weekly prayer E-mail, we pray at our various Bible Studies, and we encourage our members to pray for one another.
On Saturday, September 9th at 7:00 PM we will have a Season of Prayer at our church.  This event allows us to focus on the prayer needs of our church, our community and the world.  We expect the prayer time will be about 3 hours in

length as we share together and pray with each other.
If you can join us, please plan to set aside this time to share with us in interceding for our church and community.  It is a battle, but you will be encouraged as you join us for this most important time.

"Faith & Reason" Television Program

There will be a new look "Faith & Reason" Television program beginning this September.  The program is now the project of three churches to communicate the relevancy of faith in the 21st Century.  Participating church include First Reformed Church, Metro Community Church and Fort Lee Gospel Church.
