Judging Others

One of the most quoted verses from the Bible used by those outside the church is Matthew 7:1.  It says, "Do not judge, or you too will be judged."  

No one like to be judged by others.  The church has often been criticized for being judgmental.  At times Christians are too judgmental and at times being faithful to biblical teaching makes us appear judgmental.

As we look at the context of this verse instructing not to judge, we learn that the main point is that we should be dealing with our own sin so that we can help others clean up their act.  Think about parenting.  Every good parent judges their child so they can help them become better.  This is not to say that many parents get it wrong by placing expectations on their children without appropriate love.
