Our Christian Witness
Words
that offend many non-Christians and scare most Christians include,
"evangelization," "witnessing," and "sharing the gospel." The
last words of Jesus to go and make disciples, has become uncommon in
modern church life. Things have changed radically since 1979 and
the "I Found It" campaign. That year, witnessing was common in
the church, with many people added to churches like ours.
The text I will be preaching from this Sunday, March 14, is Col 4:2-6.
It includes these words, "Be wise in the way you act toward
outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your
conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you
may know how to answer everyone." (vs. 5,6)
The good news of faith in Jesus has not changed. Our calling to
let our witness be "full of grace, seasoned with salt" is more true
today than ever. Our culture may not be impressed with religious
zealots, but they will take note of our lives that are filled with
love, joy and peace, which is the work of God in us.
We welcome you to join us for worship this Sunday morning, March 14 at
11:00 AM as we discuss our Christian witness. May
God bless you with His favor this week!
